The Rollercoaster of Business Ownership: Beating the Blame Game

My best friend and UBER successful entrepreneur and author, Dr. Jana, posted this image on Instagram a few weeks ago:

If you have ever run your own company, this image may resonate with you. When I saw it, I had to laugh at its simple yet very real message. Every business owner I know has struggled with exactly these thoughts!

For example, while sitting with a peer yesterday, we took a look back over the past year together. She said, “I cannot believe that is how much I actually made. It feels lik…

Be You

BE YOU… because you are not very good at being anyone else.

Today, I shared a post on my personal IG (@bunnyhas6legs) from the Huffington Post about Katie Sowers being the first openly gay female to coach a team in the Super Bowl. Upon reading this article, I was stoked for Katie, not because she is gay but because she was 100% herself and totally open about it while still taking action on her dream.

As Katie has shared, coaching football has been her dream for as long as she can remember. Now, n…

The Force In Business: The Rise of the Chief Jedi Officer

Disclaimer: I am not a Star Wars Fangirl (don’t hate me). I have done my best not to post any spoilers here, but I really have no idea what is meaningful to the trilogy or storylines of the film from a fan’s perspective. So, as Yoda would say, “Warned, you have been.”

This weekend, I was reluctantly dragged to go see the new Star Wars Film, Rise of Skywalker. I am in no way a hardcore fan, but I am a dedicated wife, so I went to make my husband happy.

As we were leaving the theater, I commented …

Vision 3 Years From Now

Vision for ABP in three years

What do I see? Hear?

I see beautiful views out of windows and a lot of people smiling and happy. I see bright photos on hardcover books and lots of light furniture on new floors. I see a warm office with Guinness and one assistant and comfy furniture. A warm big cup of coffee and fresh air and the beach. I hear laughter, keyboard tapping, flights being announced, kids talking to me and my mom. I hear client testimonials and gratitude. I hear a recent interview that I…

The 4 Biggest Mistakes When Choosing a Business Coach

If you’re a business owner or entrepreneur, business coaching can be one of the biggest investments you make energetically, time-wise, and financially. So you want to make sure you choose the right person and the right focus when you make this kind of investment.

But with so many coaches out there (some far more qualified than others), finding the right coach for you can be daunting. Fortunately for you, the other coaches and I over here at APB know the drill. We’ve heard all the questions. We’v…

That Magic Moment (when Bad Things Happen)

Do you remember the story of the Pied Piper? Basically, a town is overrun by rats, so they hire this Piper to come in and lure away all the rats. He does so successfully, but then the town decides to cheat him out of his payment. So, he returns and uses his piper-ing skills to lure away all of the town’s children.

Talk about paying the consequences.

Like many other kids’ stories, this nightmare-inducing tale is supposed to teach an important lesson. What lesson, you ask? “Never trust a stranger” …

Is it better to have an online coach or in person?

When my most recent credit card statement came, I realized it was the third month in a row I’d been paying for an online program and community that I STILL had not used. I was throwing my money after something I really wanted - growth and solutions - but I hadn’t mustered the self-discipline to actually engage and take action.

Have you ever signed up for an online course or community with the best intentions, only to realize months later that you have yet to even log in?

Or hired a one-on-one coa…

It Doesn't Hurt to Ask.

After careful strategizing and planning, my business partner (for Coaches HQ) and I ran into a brick wall. For six weeks we tossed around ideas, interviewed candidates, and tried to stay positive while we wracked our brains to find a way forward.

While we tried to work through the roadblock, I also happened to have a call with a connection of mine currently volunteering for Pawssible. During our conversation, I mentioned that one of our other volunteers, Sam, was donating his digital marketing s…
